We've got 3 tables. They got marked and drawn on by the kids.
I sanded using a dander and the marks look like this can be rubbed off.
Just wondering if I could apply varnish and get the table back to it's former self?

See the picture below. See to the left - this is the original light brown look. In the middle is where I've sanded and it's just bare wood.

I haven't finished sanding, but didn't want to waste time if the table was beyond rescue.

ALSO... should I use different sanding paper? Like maybe start with coarse ones and finish with fine ones? Any guidance on that would be great. Thanks.

No.

You need to get new kids

............... only joking.

Problem you have is it looks like veneer, if so you have 0.6mm only.

Try sanding a top, be very careful round the curve if it is veneer.

Its worth a go

thanks for replying
i didn't want to waste time and money getting varnish if i wont get the same look

veneer... i'm not sure if it actually
the wood is bent round on both sides + on the sides i can see stripes

the stripes - does that mean it's a few layers of wood piled on top of each other?
