can I sit tumble drier on top of washing machine

not sure if this should be on here or electrical forum...
Anyway,I am getting a tumble drier and want to know if it is ok to sit it directly on top of the washing machine? (without a work surface between)
A pal said you shouldnt put one electric appliance on top of another, is this right?
Also, Im wondering if the vibrations when the washer spins would make the drier move?

Yes you can. Look around on net, you can get a bracket specifically to hold the 2 together.
