The Q has been asked several times in the flooring forum, but no answers. Re-doing a bathroom, about 2 and a half m square, planning to use Quickstep Lima flooring. Floor is not perfectly level, and I'm not sure underlay will damp out the dips. Can I use a self leveller? If yes, do I need to bond first? If still yes, any recommendations welcome. Thanks.

I never apply adhesives, leveler, etc..straight onto a wooden floor substrate, I always screw down every 4" 5mm ply.

It's unlikely to fully bond to the chipboard and likely detach over time - which will be noticeable under vinyl. You could try adding and priming with PVA or better still SBR, but it's just a risk.

What about PVA and a lot of saw dust?
