Hi
I have a new immersion heater timer switch which i want to use to switch my living rooms lights off and on whilst on holiday.

The wiring diagram says . 1-Neutral from mains . 2- live from mains , 3-Neutral output to appliance, 4-Live output to appliance.

The lighting switch which is fitted at the moment has two wires , live and neutral.

Can the immersion heater switch be wired to use this to switch my lights off and on please. If so how do i wire the switch.

Thank you for any advise.

Anything is possible but not advisable.

Get a plug in timer and some lamps.

Ditto. Your switch does NOT have a neutral. It has a switched live which hasn't been correctly sleeved.

Do what EFLImpudence suggested. That's what I do.

Hi thank you

I will return the switch and buy normal switch timers.

Many thank for your quick repys and advise
