I am building a timber framed outbuilding with studwork covered in marine ply.Is it possible to cover the ply with tyrolean to match my house. If so would i need to coat the ply with any thing first.

Yes cover it in building paper first then expanded metal mesh make sure it is well fixed with those horseshoe staples so it isn't flapping around.
Also if you havent already bought it save yourself a shed of cash and just use shuttering ply instead of marine.

Thanks for the tip,not sure exactly what expanded wire mesh is though, do you mean like rabbit cage mesh.
