just plug a Electric cooker in and will it work or do i need it wired up :(

i would look at the power output from the cooker eg. 3000w.

does the cooker have a 13 amp plug socket on any existing cable ?

then a spark will give the proper information.

i have a plug on the wall for a cooker not got cooker yet get it tuseday thats y i need to no for :?

wait till you get the cooker. if the power is any more than 3000w, phone an electrician. That "cooker socket" was probably just for a single oven, and is only good up to 3000w.

A rule of thumb: If it has an electric hob (rings or halogens) then it will need a high-power supply, not an ordinary plug.

Cookers with a gas hob and a single electric oven are usually OK with a plug.

The instruction book and the makers rating plate will tell you what power it needs (so should the shop, but check it yourself) as Crafty and Al say. If you picked up a sales brochure in the shop it will be in there too.

A plug will carry 13Amps or about 3000 Watts or about 3kW

:!: Question for you: on your kitchen wall is there a BIG switch marked "cooker?" And is there a white plastic connection plate (not a socket) on the wall where a cooker might go?
