I have some blobs of concrete and a few old concrete fence posts. Could I chuck then inside the foundation trenches before re-filling with soil and hardcore? This will be well below concrete slab level. Could this cause any problems?

Chuck 'em in.

I would be inclined to smash them up to avoid air pockets. This will then expose the reinforcing in the posts which i would throw in the skip.
