Can wall paint be used for wood?

Hi

Stupid question but we have some walls done in dulux Olive colour matt finish. We recently had heating pipes on Wall boxed in wood. Can i use leftover wall paint for this pipe cover? Mainly because I have some paint left over and also not sure if I can get same matt finish in dulux paint for wood!

nothing stopping you, smooth off the timber, thin first coat then a couple of good coats, it willl blend into the wall,

is it worth applying any primer on wood?
