We've recently taken out a victorian fireplace and are wanting to replace it with a log burner. When we took out the fireplace the back wall was wet so we've had a DPC done but my question is this....normally you render down to the DPC but not down to the floor and then cover the void with your skirting...we are not wanting to put skirting in as it will look silly in the recess of the fireplace, so please can you advise if you can bridge the DPC somehow?
