Looking to put a small 'surveillance looking thing' with a discreet but noticeable light, on in a couple of interior windows sills. (run from batteries)

Do such things exist and could anyone point me in right direction?

Thanks in advance

Buy a real one?
Just how cheap is cheap for a dummy versus a working camera ?
Well, every single person here around has them, all criss crossing and over looking the whole street. If something bad happened , they'd all be on to the Neighborhood watch watzapp group sharing the news, so I don't really need them, and can't be bothered with the hassle of actual working ones.
I just thought a cam lookinig device with a little light that shows at night in the inside window sill would be plenty.

Well, leave it as it is if everyone has one.

It be illegal potentially under the ICO.

But the police see it differently.

cameras it comes down to what you want to spend and what your trying to imitate

Some dummies can cost as much as a cheap working camera, you don’t have to record just power it up ??

Dummy camera would be illegal under IOC? I must be reading this wrong?
I was looking for a battery run small thing with a tiny light , that wouldn't stand up to scrutiny of someone stood a couple of feet front of it , but from a road, might deter a tiny bit? After all, even a tiny deterrence would be better than collating footage of something after the fact?
I think maybe I am not your regular security cam sort as I don't have anything to nick

Putting in a fake light needs to be exactly like the real thing. If I was a burglar I would learn to recognise dummies.

Maybe you can pick up some cheap, used, real ones on fleabay?

A house near me has a shaded footpath in woods running past the back wall, and is festooned with cameras and signs.

That was my thought. I bought this a few weeks ago in Halfords on sale for a tenner! Bought it just to keep an eye on the pup when we are out. Dunno if they have any left now.
