can anyone explain what the microswitch linked to the top grill thermocouple actually does?
i replaced the t/c as the pilot would not hold but problem persists so traced back to the microswitch which appears to have no physical means of actuation i.e. no lever to make the switch.
i've replaced microswitch and now pilot holds but only for a couple of minutes, the grill gas tap was replaced 2 years ago under warrenty and hotpoint don't have a technical help desk.
