Can't control central heating on its own

For what its worth I did replace the room stat and it made absolutely no difference. Bugger.

I've just thought....

I know everybody has jumped on the Synchron wagon, but...

It could be the valve itself needs replacing?

I wonder if the innards have caused the Synchrons to continuously give up?

If your on a back boiler, there's a good chance you've got an 'old system' and there's an even higher chance it'll have some sh*t in there...

Are any of your radiators cold at the bottom?

The system did have some crap in there, last year it was power flushed. A number of the pipes had become blocked up due to corrosion and these were replaced.

The radiators don't get cold at the bottom - but at the top - as one of them continually needs to be bled.

I hope its not the innards of the valve, as replacing that would be beyond me.
