So, I bought one of these about 18 months ago, was sold on the LiIon battery and the impact driver mode:
Makita BTP140 - 4 in one, with impact driver.
It's been great so far, best power tool I've owned and can happily drive 200mm screws all day.
It uses hex bits and has a quick change chuck. So, today, I've got to drill 16mm holes into concrete so off to store to buy a new bit (biggest I have is 10mm). But, since I've last looked, everything is SDS with a sprinkling of old-school plain bits for standard chucks.
I can't find any decent hex bits anywhere, I've tried Screwfix, Amazon, B&Q, Champion, only hex stuff is basic and small.
I even tried looking for an adapter, perhaps there's something that will convert it to use SDS, but can't find that either. Incidentally, there's quite a lot that will convert SDS to hex.
So, have I messed up and bought a redundant format tool? Does anyone know of a decent hex to SDS converter (or even hex to normal)? Or can anyone point me in the direction of a decent set of hex bits which go up to 16mm masonry?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks for looking.
