On RCBO protected circuits is there any requirement for capping to be installed protecting cables?

The reason I ask is because my utility room is boarded out and behind is rough old stone (getting a fixing is a pain!) so if I can help it I dont want to put any on for the light switch & socket I have just moved (moved 1m)

Thanks

No real reason for using capping other than protecting cable from plasters trowel. There may be some wall coverings which could leach from the cable but don't think plaster is one of them! In fact metal capping is now a problem as it means there is metal in the wall and changes the rules for the cable.

Why's that Eric? If you're talking about earthing / bonding then it's neither an exposed (not part of that circuit) or an extraneous conductive part.
Am I missing something obvious?

Can you clarify that please eric? I'm a bit stumped, needless to say that's not difficult these days....but I can't remember anything about this.
