I have a tenant that wishes to buy and lay a carpet in one of my houses. No problem with that except it is to be laid on top of laminate flooring. I don't want there to be any gripper rod nails through the laminate floor because when they leave they will take the carpet with them. I have seen a picture of right angled gripper that pins to the skirting board and not the floor. Does anyone know where I can get this from?

The problem with gripper that is fixed to the skirting is that the weakspot is how the skirtings are fitted to the wall. If they are very good quality skirtings, correctly screwed securely to the wall you will be fine, if not, the carpet will likely pull the skirtings off.

Room size carpet squares, bound round the edges would be a simpler solution, fitting over the laminate will require large spaces under the doors, when the carpet comes up, the doors will be floating visibly at the bottom.
