Hi,

I'm looking to have my hall, stairs, and landing carpeted. I understand the need to make sure I use concrete or wood grippers (nail types) for the correct surface but I have a question on placement of grippers.

I'm ok with the stairs and landing but my hallway is tiled and the skirting is fixed directly on top (screwed and gripfilled) with about a 2mm gap between skirting and floor. Removing it will undoubtedly take off lumps of plaster so will this be a problem for a fitter at the finishing edge of the carpet? How close should I be to the skirting with the gripper? I'm guessing he'll have to fold and glue it(?).

Any help welcome. :)

Thanks.
