Carpet Runner issues

Hi all... we have had our stair carpet runner replaced using the same company that fitted it the first time. They haven't mentioned that there might be any issues however I suspect when they fitted the first one they weren't happy with how it was sitting and pinned along the sides of the wrapped edges. This time they haven't done the same and the carpet is proud of the tread, is showing old staples down side of new carpet on riser, is not sitting on the gripper properly and is coming up at some of the joints. I'd be interested to know if you think any of this is ok before I contact them about it or would you mention all of it.

Shocking that and not fitted correctly. What underlay was used ?

Thanks ...The underlay is a really thick one they fitted first time around. Perhaps too thick for stairs?

Should be a 7mm underlay. We use a treadaire one called FR7
