Hi All,

I've just re-carpetted and looking to get some threshold bars. Not a big fan of the basic brass or s/s thresholds and have been looking everywhere for a simple oak threshold strip for a level carpet-to-carpet application.

I had considered using wood-to-wood 10mm rebate t-section bars and securing with a few discrete screws however they are too wide (generally 58mm) for my doors (40mm).

Does anyone have any recommendations that will do the job?

Many thanks,

Liam

Thanks Mr_Vampy.

For anyone else who is looking for same I found the Quickstep Incizo today which looks like it may be a winner.

It's a 2 component threshold - a u-section plastic rail which is screwed into floorboard and a t-section bar that clips in.

Sadly its not solid wood but it looks fairly good quality.

There is nothing to stop you making your own from strips of timber.

you cannot beat a solid wooden threshold, the same width as your walls.... The rubbish that are plastic and about an inch wide look so tacky...
A proper solid one will out last the carpet too...

Treadplates make some nice solid wood thresholds too, they include marketry designs if that would suit your tastes too.
