Hi All,

We are currently in the process of refitting our kitchen / dining room. It's a rectangular room, approx 7m x 3.3m. In one end, we have laid quartz tiles and fitted the kitchen units. In the other end, we have ordered a carpet which is being fitted on Thursday.

For the transition from carpet to tiles, the carpet shop recommended a Z bar, however they come only in 2.7m lengths so we would have a join.

I'd prefer it if the transition strip was in one piece - does anyone know if it is possible to buy them in lengths greater than 2.7m? I've had a search around and spoken to a couple of carpet shops but they all only supply 2.7m.

Thanks,
Andy.

I was in the same boat, and couldn't find one long enough that wasn't silly money.
In the end I had enough of looking and accepted a join.

I think the only option is commercial - One company that looked promising, but I didn't really explore was http://www.cat-accs.com/

I know this may look like spam, but it isn't . I've no link to the above company at all. I'm not even a previous customer ;)

Thanks for your reply Gareth! We have decided to have a join as you did. It doesn't look too bad really.
