I have bought a cast stone fire place, in a light sandstone colour and the seller has advised on installation but I'm not too sure his advice is correct.

For the hearth would it be ok to bed it on white flexible cement based tile adhesive suitable for stone?

For the straps which screw into the stone and wall would tapcon screws, or wall plugs and screws be better?

To bond the stonework to the wall would a polyurethane adhesive be ok, or would tile adhesive be better?

For the joints would bonding them together with polyurethane adhesive be ok?

I haven't been supplied with a pointing mix would a good colour match tile grout be ok?

The manufacturers (one man band working from a lock up) suggests that the thing is silicones to the wall and the hearth is glued to the floor with a grab adhesive.

It doesn't seem right to me.
