A month ago, had 4 upstairs rooms skimmed and insulated plasterboard dot and dabbed to external walls.

The box room has smelt like very strong cat wee since it was done but the others don’t.

It’s definitely not a leaking soil pipe (this is far away from it).

What could be the cause of it?

It’s not a faint smell - very strong. Doors and windows kept open but comes back if they’re closed.

The room used to get mould in one corner - which I had put down to it being a cold wall.

Could it in fact be that the render has failed or water running in some other way and causing black mould behind the plasterboard already?
