Repairing some plaster around bedroom window.

I was going to get the plasterer to use a bit of plasterboard over the cavity (loose filled) and skim.

I do have a bit of celotex lying around would it be a good idea to cut a bit and slide it in the cavity or would that create a bridge and cause problems?

Also if I do that I guess it’s worth pulling off all the old plaster even though it’s fixed quite well?

Pull off plaster and cover with sheet insulation and plasterboard. Consider the depth though and will it look ok.

Other way is to remove plaster. Masking and cardboard over window.
Fill cavity with polystyrene and foam.
Plasterboard over.

As for adhesives. Polymer mastic and or foam.
I've also used cheap powder decorators filler to stick board to bricks
