I see your bigotry is running rampant again. Ignoring facts to spout your nonsense. But facts have never been your strong point, whereas bigotry has.

Every large European port was involved in the slave trade, although to varying degrees. English ports were at the forefront; with 4,894 expeditions departing from Liverpool and 2,704 from London.
Metropolitan France launched around 4,200 slave-ships and finds itself third place amongst slave-trading nations, after Great Britain and Portugal
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role_...launched around 4,200,of the total for France.

So just thinking,

A career criminal who gave absolutely no good to the community or those around him can be made as a saint and statues can be erected in his honour, a state funeral etc etc

But someone who done some bad things in another country, but then done a whole load of good aswell in his native country, has to be demonised by society and torn down and hidden away

All because skin colour doesn't support the narrative of a minority

Did Britain abolish slavery simply because it was uneconomical.

There were a number factors which hastened the end of slavery: the industrial revolution in Britain brought a new demand for efficiency, free trade and free labour; all this was out of step with slavery. Britain's ties with America were loosened when she lost her colonies in the American war of independence in 1776.

If slavery were still legal in the UK today, wouldn't it be very expensive to keep a slave.
With all this health and safety legislation to contend with, you would have to have your slave well insured for public liability, if he attacked someone while trying escape, you could be sued for compensation.
You would also have to house, clothe and feed your slave.
It would make more sense to just employ someone on minimum wage and let them fend for themselves.

Some bad things hardly equates with raping and pillaging a whole country.
His supposedly good thing was primarily designed to further his racist and sexist superiority ideology, financed solely by the proceeds of his raping and pillaging a country, killing and dispossessing millions of Africans.

It's exploitation - just now it has the veneer of freedom.

We imported US culture and all its ills including BLM movement which does have merit in the US in the way the Police operates and is funded but it really has little relevance in the UK.

Shouting do not kill me to UK officers who are unarmed is for instagram likes and social media where todays battle inevitably ends up.

The Republicans policies do not work, they have failed so they cannot argue to be in power because they are better stewards of the economy - so they pivot to driving the culture wars. The conservatives have co-opted many of these strategies after a decade of anaemic wage growth and massive cuts to services they are pushing this culture war so as not to discuss the economic realities.

The statistics for deaths in custody/police encounters say otherwise.

Derek Chauvin did not use a weapon to kill George Floyd.

And this forum is stuffed full of RWLs who lap up all the culture war stuff because it feeds into their prejudices and inchoate rage.
