I want a swirly rough finish on my bedroom ceiling like the image below.

That pattern looks to be what is called the swirl, you will need to purchase a stippling brush to obtain this pattern. The consistency of the mix will be of importance here, and working in areas of around 1M2 brush the textured coating on with around a 4 to 5" brush,then use your stipple brush to achieve the pattern. When doing so make sure that you overlap each swirl.
