I have been looking for ceiling fans in England for about 6 months now and to say there's not much choice is an understatment so I have been looking at US websites and you get a much bigger sellection. But would a US fan work over here? Don't the US us a low voltage than us and would I end up blowing the motor on it.

no it would just go round very very fast.

all joking aside, no you can not run anything designed for the use in the U.S.A over here they are on 120v 60 hz we are on 230 v 50 hz

They have differnt colour codes than us, different regulations, it would not be g'teed and you would have to pay import duty on it.(and vat)

Technically it is possible using converters but it would not be worth the hassle

i did find these for you
