ceiling light

<div class="bbWrapper">i have disconnected a strip light in the kitchen which is operated by a switch at each end of kitchen.I am replacing it with a 4-bar spotlight.problem is new light has a 3 block connector but i have 9 wires coming out of ceiling.3 grey cables each containing a red a black and a bare wire.i connected all 3 red to live,all 3 black to neutral and 3 bare to earth connection in light.Result:light on all the time and then blew the trip.And now the light in the next room along will not work!HELP!! <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f641.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":(" title="Frown :(" data-smilie="3"data-shortname=":(" /></div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">Please search the forum for information on this.<br /> <br /> This question has been posed, and answered countless times already.<br /> <br /> One Q though - when you removed the old ceiling rose, why did you fail to notice that you did not originally have all the wires of each colour connected together?</div>
