I bought some white, flat, 1.5mm cable with the red, black and green/yellow wires. It looks like any other ceiling cable I have seen before, except the the coloured wires have 7 strands - not single copper strand. Is this ok to use to wire downlights?

I will elaborate a little. There are already old daggy ceiling and wall lights installed which I am replacing with new 240v 11w CFL downlights. Some rooms I have to add 2-3 additional downlights to sufficiently illuminate the room - hence I need a few meters of cable to run to the additional lights. I will only have a max of 4-5 running from the one switch which will be fine.

The colour codes for house wiring here seems to be blue/black and red/brown. I just want to know if I should be replacing this 1.5mm cable with single strand stuff? I was in a rush when I bought it from the hardware store.
