Cement and Sand Mix for Floor

I am about to laid down a new marble hearth and back.
I have a concrete floor, but I need to scim it upto the existing floor level.
Can an expert please advise me: what sand I use in the mix and what the ratio I should make the mix.
Many thanks for any advise.
