Hi there,
I have an area in my garden that has pebbles embedded in a concrete base. Overtime many of these pebbles have come loose.
Can anyone give me advice on a good cement mix to keep these little B*****S in place???
Appreciate any advice

And theres me wondering why out of all the various parts of this board, there is a general discussion part....

And here's me thinking placing a post in a busy general area would help me get a some helpful replies!!!!!
Not sarcastic one's!
Nice way to treat a first time poster.

Hello colliecrew
do you mean that you want to put the pebbles back in place? or are you going to break up the concrete and relay the base with another mix? or put a screed over the top? what do you use the base for?
sorry!!! nothing is ever simple

Hi there,
The area is roughly 10' x 5' and is just used as a decorative feature(or not so decorative at the moment)
Roughly 10% of the pebbles have came loose over 3 years and ideally I like to put them back in place as simply as possible.
The pebbles themselves as on average 4"-5" in size.
Hopes this helps

give the area a good soaking.

mix up a cement slurrey and add a little fine sand.

you can set the pebbles in with the slurrey.

or you could clear off the loose stuff and apply a layer of resin bonded aggregate or bound aggregate (basically stones in glue).

Can look very attractive like level gravel, but doesn't kick up.

Well if you decide to stick the pebbles down individually you'll need an epoxy resin otherwise try the slurry idea but I think you'll always have problems with pebbles that big staying stuck and might be better off breaking it up and doing it again but hell! if its just cosmetic there's nothing to lose trying to tart it up.
missed Johns idea between posts could be the best way.
sounds shiny?

Looks "wet" when new, but the glue wears off where you walk on it, and it just looks like gravel after a while. I first saw it at Chelsea some years ago. You can buy it in a sack, mixed up, I think with a moisture-curing glue, or as ingredients to mix yourself. You often see it now round trees set into pavements.
