Hi All..

wonder if anyone can help....the other morning i came down stairs and my house was absolutely roasting.....all the heaters in the house were on but i know that i had not switched it on....just to double check, i looked at the control panel and rightly it was switched to off.....but i could hear the heating was on......the only way for me to get the heating off was to switch the control panel to timer then advance then off.

I then heard the pump? stop and the heaters began to cool down.....

Wonder if anyone can help....could it be the thermostat, pump or electrical problem with control panel...

Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Possibly a two port valve was stuck open on the heating side, equally a three port stuck open. Rarely I've found a water leak (from the valve gland) causing a short inside the valve head, though this depends on valve orientation too.

Could be you have a frost protection stat, though this infers it coincidentally turned off just as you played with the programmer.

Turn the heating mains electricity supply off and check the heating valve returns smoothly after operating it with the manual lever (resistance felt when operating it). If it's limp you need help :p (fnar, fnar)
