Hi,
I am currently removing a wall between my kitchen and dining room and there is a radiator attached to it, I will need to bury/hide the copper pipes in the concrete floor as the radiator will no longer be required. I will have to fit Stop End Caps to the 2 pipes and considering the pipes are in cement, would compression fittings be suitable or should I use solder type? Also what is suitable to wrap the pipes in to prevent corrosion?

Thanks

Soldered are more compact and therefore easier to cover, and if you're going to wrap them then corrosion obviously won't be an issue. Having said that, if you're inexperienced then you might have trouble getting the solder to take on old and potentially wet pipes, in which case use compression. Basically either is good so go with what you're most comfortable with. Go to a plumbers merchants and ask for a narrow roll of Denso tape, that'll stop it corroding if you wind it around the cap and cover it well..
