hello all, new poster, can anyone please help. i have a british gas cental heating programmer (older type)dual channel dcp type v3 555054. i have no display at all. can anyone please tell me if there is a battery inside the unit, icannot find any visible access to change a battery. cannot find anyone that now stocks this model. any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

A photo generally helps, but I suspect it’s a rebadged Drayton LP programmer. I think some were replaceable others weren’t. If it is the Drayton and you can’t replace the battery, then a new unit would clip onto existing backplate.

this is it

It's an old Hive / British Gas thermostat. Two versions were available, one [type 555062] has batteries in the back and is used with a separate receiver. But as you can see, the back of yours doesn't have the battery compartment and the diagram shows that it has 230V N & L connections so it is mains powered. Have you checked to see that there is 230V across the N & L terminals?

You might find an old model on line, but it's probably time to install a new one. I believe it uses the 'industry standard backplate' if so the current Hive Dual Channel programmer has the same connections (as do many others) Here's a diagram for you to compare with the details on the back of your current thermostat. I can't see the photo clear enough to be 100% sure.
