what happens when central/remote locking meets a flat battery?
How does one get in the vehicle?

use the key to open the door. its usually a mechanical lock, that when operated electricaly inlocks the other doors, so flat batt will mean only one dooor will open (the one opened with key)

pick axe, angle grinder, spark plug, rock, AA/RAC, hammer, slim jim etc etc etc....oh yes or a key! :D :D

Thermo... you must remember the using of the pot part of a plug to break windows then? so easy to throw away if tugged.

If any of you are jump starting modern cars, you should leave the jump leads connected for a few minutes before starting. You can damage the ECU's on some cars otherwise. Also make sure one of the doors is left open or take the key out too, some cars can lock themselves up as you connect the leads.

Yes but the yobs don't like them because they could be used as evidence or a copper would see them throw it away.

A piece of the pot off a plug is quicker and quieter, more importantly it is so small a copper wouldn't see them drop it.
