Ford Mondeo 'W reg' Keyfob problem

Hi There,

My brother has recently replaced the battery in his remote key fob and now he can't unlock/lock the car remotely. He has to unlock by putting key in lock and turning. He can still start the vehicle so is able to drive it.

Could anyone please advise on how to reprogram/synch the keyfob with the vehicle so that the remote central locking works again? I know there are various methods used with different vehicles.

How many buttons on your key ? (2 or 3) I have the info. for both types.

It is a 3 button fob (rf)

If my info is correct, obtain all keys with remote locking
1- Turn ignition key from position 0 to position II 4 times within 6 secs
2- Turn ignition key to position 0
3- The system should emit a sound to indicate programming mode
4- The programming mode is only active for 10secs
5- Press and hold any of the buttons on the key
6- The system should emit a sound if sucessful
7- Release button
8- Repeat above within 10secs for all other keys
9- To exit wait 10 secs or start the engine.
