Certain members on here who are banging on about what Farage is supposed to have said 50 years ago

When it suits Biker, it's the letter of the law that counts.

Except when it is left-leaning women, when it is just because they're left-leaning women (y)
Oh dear. Someone else thinks people should be prosecuted for crimes that didn’t exist.

Good ol Nige.

Claims that Nigel Farage was a racist bully in his school days appear to have left his reputation unscathed among voters, according to a new poll.

A survey by JL Partners for The Independent shows that one in two voters have a negative view of the Reform leader, compared to one in three who have a positive view.

And we all know why that is.

Majority support for racism and antisemitism does not suddenly make those things acceptable.

History tells us what terrible things happen when views like that are allowed to become normalised.

But just out of interest, at what age do you believe a person should be considered responsible for their own actions/utterances?
18. When they can vote. Drink in pubs. Join the army. Get married without their parents permission. Be named publicly in criminal cases. Open a bank account. Take out a loan. Buy fireworks. Make a bet. Buy a lottery ticket. Serve on a jury. Buy tobacco…..

That's not what you said here:

And so he should be. But to be able to re-apply in two years is a joke, surely?
If 30 years of prison/parole/licence haven't changed him, what on earth makes the parole boar think another 2 years inside is going to?
He should be banged up for the rest of his life and stripped of his anonymity. The taxpayers of this country have paid enough to protect him!
I agree with you 100% but I think you mean Jon Venables. Jamie Bulger was the boy he abducted and killed.

Did none of the teachers think to 'tell him off' at school, maybe serve a detention. Reading some of the teachers accounts I'm surprised he wasn't expelled, and yes, it did happen in those days.

Sadly it would appear that the senior staff at the school shared his views, or were sympathetic enough towards them for him to make excuses.

But it's beyond shameful for anybody to continue to make excuses for him today.

A bit like condemning someone for smoking in a pub years ago when it wasn't illegal to smoke in a pub.

No it's not like that at all.

Why are you so desperately keen for Nigel Farage to not be held to account for racist and antisemitic bullying?

Do you think that it was perfectly OK just because at the time it wasn't illegal?

There wasn't a criminal offence of upskirting until 2019, does that mean that you think it was OK before then?

Question for everyone here, would you remember the political views(word for word) of Schoolfriends from 40+ years ago?

Depends on the words.

If someone had told me Hitler was right, and that I should have been gassed, and made a hissing sound, I think I'd remember that.
