For structural reasons, I am demolishing a poorly built extension to a property I own in Scotland. The extension incorporated a socket ring and a lighting circuit. I have to submit a Building Warrant for the demolition. In addition to other Certificates of Construction relevant to the strucural issues, will I also need such a certificate to declare that the electrical system remaining in the property has been properly re-wired? Common sense would suggest that I would need one. Clearly, the wiring will be made safe in any event, but does the Warrant require the cerificate as well?

you'll need to discouss this with your local authority as each council seems to have it's own interpretation of what they need to know about regarding your household electrics.
