My room CH stat has been broken...wife won't own up to it...wasn't me and as far as I know it wasn't the dog!!!

Anyway...

The deceased Honeywell seems to have Live connection (red) , 2 wires feeding the Neutral (yellow and blue) and the earth.

Bought a new Salus digital thermostat which has Mains Live - Switched Live - Earth.

Hoping someone can advise whether the yellow & blue existing connection to Neutral is effectively the Switched Live in the new unit and should be connected together to the switched terminal or whether I've bought the wrong stat?

Would appreciate a bit of help if possible. Thanks.

:D

Just had a thought. I'm guessing one of the neutral wires will be that required to complete the circuit to power the old thermostat with it being mechanical? Now redundant as the new stat is battery operated.

The yellow wire seems to show it going through the stat on the wiring diagram so is that now the switched live?

To which number terminal, on the Honeywell, did each colour wire connect?

Are you sure it was not the dog?
