hi there, can anyone tell me if it is easy to change the string on an electric pull cord, its for an old fashioned "lazy switch", the string looks grubby and has probably been there since the house was built in the 50's!

cheers :D

A few inches down from the pull switch body there should be a small plastic 'bullet'.You shoud be able to unscrew this and replace with a new cord

If not, its almost as easy to replace the switch itself (unless this then reveals wiring as old as you say!)

ok, just had a look, no "bullet" thing and the switch kind of looks like an ice cream cornet in shape.

maybe i could just snip the string and tie a new one on at the top

diane :?

it would be the easiest option, and if it is as old as you say, there will not be a plastic connector

thats what ill do then....nice n easy!

thanks for your help guys!
