Hi,
Is it a straightforward job to change the thermostat on a hot water tank immersion heater? When using the immersion heater the hot water from the taps is very hot and the thermostat looks to be set at 60C but the water is hotter than this.
The actual control for the thermostat is a rotatable dial on a small dark brown cube shaped box connected to the electricity supply that seems to slide on or off the central probe. The immersion heater cap indicates it is a Backer Type 327 unit.
Do I need to replace the dark brown cube unit only or do I need to replace the dark brown cube and central probe as a complete unit?
Jack
