In the process of getting an extension built and we are changing from vented to unvented system (Santon Twin Solar cylinder). We have a power shower that is not even 1 year old, will this have to be replaced to have the unvented system?

If so, and this is probably stupid, could we use the shower without turning on the ceiling switch in the meantime?

Power Shower is a term that has a lot of different meanings.

If the shower heats the water electrically then you can keep it as is. It will be c*ap though, by comparison to a normal shower running off a properly installed unvented cylinder.

If your shower has an internal pump and does not heat the water itself, then it will be incompatible with your new cylinder.
