I decided to change out all my light switches to white.... however when I was finishing the last one, I received a phone call and didn't pay attention to the diagram. Now I am having trouble.

I have four main wires coming in. 3 white and one black.

Each white wire has 2 wires in each (white and black)

The black wire has 3 wires (white black and red)

All the white wires are gathered together with a wire nut

The red wire is simply folded back and not serving and purpose.

The problem is that I have 4 black wires to go to 2 switches and I do remember which wire goes were.

I do know that between the 2 switches there was a black wire wired from one to the othere. That I know I have right.

However, I can not get the other black wires right? Now I do not have power in my other bedroom unless I turn on the one of the switches.

Any suggestions?

i can fairly confidently say that the black wires are the lives. One is bringing power in, one is going to other loads on the circuit and the remaining two are switched feeds to the lights. The only question is which is which.

do you own a multimeter?
