Chimney Breast

Hi all,

We have a chimney breast in our bedroom with an alcove either side approx 1400mm wide,, wanting to utilise the space it would be nice to put wardrobes in this space, however the wardrobes are 1500mm. Would it be possible to trim the width of the chimney breast either side approx 30mm?

how thick is the plaster either side?

You can remove the plaster! but i wouldnt advise hacking into the brickwork of the chimneybreast

ok that answers my question, poxy ikea wardrobes are 500mm wide wanted to put 3 on each side, not meant to be I guess

put 2 either side with shelfing built in between wardrobes ...maybe not
