Chimney Noise

Hi all,

just moved into a bungalow that has an open fire. During heavy wind/rain there is a lot of noise resonating into the lounge.

I’ve been up the check the steel cap and all is secure. So the noise is basically from the rain hitting the cap.

Is there a cheap and cheerful way to dampen the sound?

Yes get it changed to a clay terminal.

Cheap and cheerful - glue a bit of carpet on it
