I have a gas fire but I am getting a real draft down the chimney even when its not windy which is causing fumes to build in the room, can anyone offer advice as to the problem?

you should really get a gassafe registered engineer in to do a test on your flue and he will advise you on the proper terminal to fit.

I would seriously advise Don`t Use the Fire :!: . I never got gas registered But I have 1 experience of a similar occurence (on a block of flats) The terminals were in a Pressure zone ...and the only safe repair was to change all the fires to powered flues  ..I just reported my findings , as I was doing plumbing work in the flat, and saw the staining above the radiants in the fire . Get the Gas Safe Guy in .
