Hello All
I have a terrice victorian house
The first pic below is my kitchen with the cupboard you can see, this used to go right across the room as a fireplace, the bedroom above also has a fireplace but not driectly above but to the right so its up against the wall rather than accross the room.
What i need to find out is if its safe to remove the cupboard that has a single layer of bricks along the left hang side?
I have included pics of the chimney breast in the floor as i have the floor up in the bedroom above.
Now how can the chimney above every have been supported by the breast down stairs if it wass not directly under it?
above the door is hollow
as you can see from the third pick there are still some bricks under it but they are only supported by a single brick high cupboard.
What can be supporting the chimney stack up stairs if the one under it was only partially under it???
Thanks All So much
