Does anyone know if its possible in Chrome to see your favourites on the left-hand side, in seperate folders, in a window that will stay open, as in IE8? I cannot see how to do this in Chrome or Firefox, am I missing something? Any help would be much appreciated.

No, you can't do that. What I done was added a new folder 'favourites' to the bookmarks bar to the far left with everything in there. Click the drop-down arrow to access them. The list does not appear there permanently but I don't see the advantage of that, I prefer maximum screen space which is why I changed to chrome
