cistern draining quickie

Hi

I am about to replace my WC, however how do I get the last few litres of water out of the cistern and toilet bowl?


any quick methods or am I missing something.

I can't flush anymore due to there not being enough water in the cistern.

Old towel or sponge.

Personally I just lift the two of them out still bolted together and turn them upside down outside or remove the cistern and ditto then the pan and ditto into the bath/shower or wash basin.
