Citroen Berlingo fuel filling problem

My Citroen Berlingo I bought recently has the problem when I fill it up at the pumps, the nozzle keeps cutting out after a couple of seconds. Its like the diesel is splashing back at the nozzle end making it cut out

Now I have tried it deep (ha ha) and tried just the end of the nozzle in and no real difference?

Its not blocked, I can fill my car but it takes time.
