citroen piccaso diesel

i have a 54 plate piccaso which i bought from a citroen dealership and it came with a years warranty, about a month before the warranty expired the fuel pump packed in and they replaced it in february. i normally put 20 or 30 bucks of diesel in at a time until today when i filled it only to see diesel flying out of it when i'd finished(a major leak). is this a coincidence? the geezer at the garage more or less told me that was my warranty up although the fuel pump would be covered the seals would'nt, any help would be appreciated thanks

poorly fitted pump maybe? either way id be looking to take it back as thats not normal
