Citroen Saxo 1.6i VTR

Hi,

My Saxo, which I was in the process of deciding to sell, is now suffering from falling out of fifth gear on occasions.

I fear this is due to a knackered gear box and was wondering if anyone could confirm this and whether anyone knew approx. how much a new gear box would cost to have fitted.

Maybe the clutch

Would the clutch cause it to only fall out of one gear?

I rememember it happening to me many many years ago in an old uno, but it was 4th because 5th had not be invented in the unos years ogo, and it was something to do with a slippage in the cable or wire in the clutch.
